A major transformation is taking shape in Uptown Houston.
The former Post Oak Central campus is being reimagined as Central Park Post Oak, a 17-acre mixed-use destination designed to bring together office space, restaurants, retail, lifestyle amenities and green space.
Here’s what makes the redevelopment interesting:
• 1.2 million square feet of Class A office space across three towers
• More than 150,000 square feet of retail, dining and lifestyle space
• A new Central Park and expanded green spaces designed to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment
• New retail buildings along Post Oak Boulevard
• Improved landscaping, on-street parking and renovations to existing parking garages
The project also has a growing restaurant lineup. The Henry, Sparrow Italia and Buck & Rider are among the concepts joining the development, with additional dining and retail planned as the project continues to expand.
Construction on the redevelopment began in April 2025, and the first retail buildings are currently scheduled for delivery in Fall 2026. A second phase is also planned, which will add approximately 30,000 square feet of new and integrated retail space along with additional green space, a conference facility, new office lobbies and further landscape improvements.
From a real estate perspective, this is the part I find most interesting.
A redevelopment like this can change how people experience an area. Adding dining, retail, green space and more walkable connections around an established office district can make the surrounding area more active and appealing to employees, residents, visitors and businesses.
