If your septic system has age on it, I suggest getting it inspected and not just pumped.
Most people think because they "pump" the tank every 5 years, everything is good. Not true.
I am listing a home in Warrenton. On well and septic. Standard procedure for my company is to obtain paperwork from County Health Department regarding the well and septic.
Called Jimmy, from J&G Septic, He came out to inspect. Total fail. Tree roots around distribution box and 3 of the 5 lines. Will cost owner several thousand to repair system and also has to cut down several trees.
Since I already had septic paperwork from Health Department, the repair can start as soon as Monday. This preemptive measure saved my clients time, potentially losing a contract and/or delaying closing.
So when the house goes on the market, the well and septic systems will not be an issue.
