I remember buying our first home in Murrieta, Ca in 2009, market crash. We were first time homebuyers at the age of 19 but we had no idea the ride we’d be put on just to close. I still remember the frustration and fear.
But the world does not stop because we’re afraid.
The home we bought was not even on my top list, we had made 30+ offers on 30+ homes. This was the time the homes were selling like crazy, hours on the market then go under contract within the hour.
The home we bought was a rental and had been under contract 10 TIMES!!! We were the 11th time and we closed. We bought a 2,400 sqft, two story for 245K at 6% interest rate. We brought little to the table at closing because we were first time homebuyers.
I remember thinking, “ugh the house needs so much work”, the renters did not care for the place. We made it a beautiful home and brought each of our babies home here.
We did improvements each year, lived there for 9 years and sold in the high 400s.
There is never a right or wrong time to buy/sell.
You do what is best and convenient for you.
But if you’re ever interested in buying/selling/leasing, I’d love the opportunity to be a resource for you.
