In this week’s video lesson, we learned that we are God’s most special creations! Out of all the amazing things God made, like the earth, the sun and moon, the plants and the animals, WE are the most special! For some art fun with your preschooler, take a piece a paper and write the words “God Loves Me!” Then trace your hand and your preschooler’s on the same piece of paper. See how many hands you can fit on the page! Take a picture and share with us! We would love to see the little hands :)

This week our bottom line was “There’s always more to discover about God’s plan”. A helpful way to recap this is to join us in a fun activity!

The Road to Emmaus Activity

Need: “Road Signs” Activity Pages; plastic eggs; two pool noodles or yardsticks; prepared masking tape lines Print your Road Signs Here: https://tinyurl.com/y7tn7x2p

1. Create two teams, and line them up at either end of your “road.”

2. Place the Emmaus sign near one team and the Jerusalem sign near the other.

3. One person from each side must roll their egg along the road from one town to the other, using only the pool noodle/yardstick to touch the egg.

4. When they cross over each other on the path, they must say the Bottom Line to each other: [Bottom Line] There’s always more to discover about God’s plan.

5. When they reach the other side, the next person takes the noodle/yardstick and starts to move the egg back along the road.

6. When both teams have completely switched places from the towns where they originally began, the game is over.

7. Feel free to play additional rounds and don’t forget to share with us your experience of you guys trying this out!

Today, we look at part of our Gospel story, JESUS GIVES. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. Because Jesus gave up his life for us, we can be welcomed into God’s family for eternity. This is the best gift ever!

Hey parents, our desire in Woodside Kids is for your kids to embrace an authentic relationship with Jesus. Our desire is for your kids to learn about the gospel and make a decision to trust Jesus with their lives. One way we present the Gospel is with our Gospel Icons. Print off the Gospel: God’s Plan For Me activity page and have your kids fill in the blanks of the gospel icons. Once completed, read the bible reference for each icon together. During this time while we are hunkered down in our homes, we need to come up with some creative ways to keep our kids entertained. As the days have gone on, we start to run out of things to do. May young kids LOVE to make forts inside the house. Gather some blankets, pillows, chairs, tables, whatever you have in the house for them to use. Make a creative fort and post a picture for all to see. You could even have a movie night and watch the movie from your fort.

Upside Down Glass of Water Trick - Science Experiment | Educational Videos by Mocomi Kids

Upside Down Water Experiment

What You Need: a glass or jar, water, cardstock big enough to fit around your glass, and a towel. What You Do: Fill the jar of water all the way to the top, place the piece of cardstock over the glass or jar and hold securely, quickly turn the glass/jar over while maintaining pressure on the cardstock, slowly move your hand that is covering the cardstock. For a visual of the experiment go to: http://bit.ly/2MtMrrE

Turning a glass of water upside down and not spilling it seems to defy gravity. It’s not what you’d expect to happen. Jesus turned things upside down, too. He flips the way we think about ourselves and others. He challenges us to live differently.

This past Sunday we learned that Jesus wants me to tell others He is alive! Join us in doing this fun activity with your Pre-K kiddo today!

What You’ll Need: Stickers or cutouts of the world

What You Do: Hide the stickers (still with backing on) or cutouts all around your activity area.

During the Activity: Ask the children to walk around the activity area, find a sticker or cutout, and bring it to you.

After the Activity: Recap the Bible story by saying something similar to, “Way to go! Now we are going to talk about what we learned this past Sunday, which was that you can tell everyone all over the world about Jesus!” You can also use this time to review our memory verse or continue talking about the Great Commission and Jesus’ call that we go and make disciples!

Play this Memory verse game together as a family to help your kids learn this month’s verse. You will need a Bible, index cards, and something to write with. Look up Philippians 2.3 (Elementary) or Revelation 1:18 (PreK). Write the words of the memory verse on index cards; one word per card. Mix the cards up. Flip the cards over and try to put the verse back together. Then, say the verse together. For a fun challenge, try to put the memory verse in order in under 30 seconds

As we remember how Jesus gave up his life and the honor He deserved to put us first, we can think of others people who put others first.

Parents, make a list and start with Jesus. Say a prayer, thanking him for his love and gift of salvation. As a family take 5 minutes during a meal, bedtime, or family time to go around and share someone you are thankful for and why. Post that list and over the weekend, call or write to those people in your life who put others first!

We want to celebrate that Jesus is ALIVE and He wants to be our friend forever. You will need a piece of paper, items to make colorful petals for the flower and something to write with. Write the words “JESUS IS ALIVE” in the middle of the paper. Decide how you want to make your petals and draw or glue those to the outside of your words. Hang up your flower in a window and take a picture of it for Facebook.

Play this Memory verse game together as a family to help your kids learn this month’s verse. You will need a Bible and Memory verse cards or post it notes or small pieces of paper.

What You Do: Look up Philippians 2.3 (Elementary) or Revelation 1:18 (PreK). Next, print the memory verse cards, or write the verse in sections on the Post it Notes or squares. Lay out the memory verse cards in order and say the verse together. Then, take away one card and say the verse again. Repeat until all the cards are gone and kids can say the verse without help.

Review this week’s Bible Story with your kids by leading them in this Activity. They will need paper & markers or colored pencils. Guide kids what to draw, pausing to share between each drawing:

In the middle draw a king & a castle with treasures (Say: God is King of the world. God rules over everything! He made us for a relationship with Him but we broke that relationship when we sinned. The punishment for sinning is death.

In the left corner, draw a manger (Say: But God provided a plan! He left his Kingdom and came to earth as a baby to be with us and teach us about who God really is)

In the right corner, draw a cross (Say: Jesus deserved honor and praise but instead he took our punishment for us and put us first. Jesus gave his life on the cross. He was stronger than death and three days later he came back to life!

Draw yourself next to the king (Say: We can respond by following this wonderful King and putting others first like he did for us.)

Share pictures with each other and share ways you can put others first. Then, share your drawing by posting below!

Countdown to Easter | Day 13 | John 19

Today in our Countdown to Easter plan, we read about a very sad day. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Read together in John 19 or on page 302 in your Jesus Storybook Bible. Talk about how you think Jesus’ friends must have felt that day. While this story has a sad ending, we know that this is not the end. Easter Morning brings the BEST NEWS EVER.
