2. Don’t Put it Down. Put it Away.

This simple principle can make a huge difference during a move. Instead of unpacking a box and putting things wherever there's an empty spot, we put items where they make sense for how the family or individual lives.

Everyday things should be convenient. Frequently used items should be easy to reach. Similar items should live together. The goal isn't simply to get every box emptied. The goal is to create a home that functions.

1. Have a Home for Everything

When someone moves into a new place, every item needs to have a home. This principle helps anyone moving into a new home.

This is especially important in a senior living community, where space is often more limited than in the family home someone may have lived in for decades.

Rather than simply unpacking boxes and filling cabinets, we discuss how the resident will actually use the space.

Where should the coffee supplies live?
Where will medications and daily essentials be easiest to access?
Where could favorite photos and meaningful treasures go?
