More Lake County homes sold this summer, even though inventory barely moved.

The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 2,623 homes sold in the three months ending July 31, 2026. Inventory came in at 2,017. That tells us buyers are still closing deals, and homes still need the right pricing and prep to stand out.

One part of McHenry County is still moving much faster than the rest.

In ZIP 60156, 69% of homes went under contract within two weeks in the three months ending July 31, 2026, per the Real Estate Data Aggregator. Homes there also averaged 101.4% of list price. So yes, rates are above 7% per Realtor.com, but some pockets are still very competitive.
