Cook County’s latest property tax bills have officially gone out, and many homeowners are already noticing changes tied to reassessments, exemptions, and updated taxing‑district budgets.
Here is a link if you want to look up the tax bill:

According to the Cook County Treasurer’s Office, each bill includes a detailed breakdown of how taxes are calculated — from your Property Index Number (PIN) to how funds are distributed among schools, parks, libraries, and other local agencies.
The Treasurer also reminds residents that the first installment is always 55% of the previous year’s total tax, while the second installment reflects the final calculation based on updated assessments and exemptions.
I’d love to hear from you:
Did your bill go up, down, or stay about the same?
How do you feel about this year’s changes?
