🐝 What if you’ve mistaken someone else’s opinion, inherited names or learned structures for your limitation?

You’ve probably heard that the bumblebee wasn’t built to fly—but flies anyway.

That’s a myth. Bumblebees are equipped for flight. The misunderstanding was ours. And that offers an even better lesson.

How often have you accepted “You’re too old,” “You’re too much,” or “You don’t have what it takes” from someone who didn’t understand your abilities?

Someone’s inability to see your potential doesn’t determine your capacity.

You’ll still need practice, preparation, and the courage to be a beginner. But you don’t need everyone’s approval to take your next step.

Where have you been living within a limit you need to question? 🐝

A luxurious bedroom doesn’t have to come with a luxury price tag. ✨🛏️

A few simple upgrades can make a big difference:

🛏️ Layer your bedding with textured pillows and a comfy throw.
💡 Warm up the lighting with bedside lamps or warm-toned bulbs.
🪞 Add one statement piece like a large mirror, artwork, or upholstered headboard.
🌿 Bring in texture with greenery, wood, or woven accents.
🧺 Clear the clutter to create a cleaner, more polished feel.

You don’t need to replace everything to change the feel of a room. Start with the details that make the biggest difference and build from there!

Your children can inherit your property and still lose each other.

This really needs to be said.

When I help a family sell real estate during probate or carry out a loved one’s wishes, I step into the middle of their grief.

Sometimes, everyone cooperates beautifully. Other times, I’ve witnessed pressure, threats, and demands for money. I’ve seen one family member have to sue another to keep from losing the property. And I’ve seen disagreements over what was “fair” end with siblings blocking one another and going completely no contact.

Here’s a conversation I believe more families should have while the parents can still lead it:

How will you recognize the person who takes care of you?

The one arranging appointments. Managing medications. Answering midnight calls. Giving up work hours. Showing up through the difficult days that everyone else may never see.

The Bible’s provision for a firstborn son’s double inheritance got me thinking about a modern approach that recognizes caregiving.

Suppose you have three children. What if you divide your estate into four portions—one for each child, with the fourth designated for the person who provides your care, whether that’s one of your children or someone outside the family?

That’s an idea for discussion, and shared caregiving would deserve consideration, too.

The essential part is making your wishes clear ahead of time: what care means, how contributions will be recognized, and how your intentions will be documented with your estate-planning attorney.

An extra portion won’t guarantee family harmony. But leaving everyone to guess what you intended can add conflict to grief.

What do you think? Should an inheritance recognize the person who carried the responsibility of caring for a parent?

What if Moses had said to Jethro, “I didn’t ask for your opinion”?

Moses was spending his days settling disputes, carrying a responsibility too heavy to manage alone. Jethro saw the strain and offered advice Moses hadn’t asked for: share the load.

Moses listened. His willingness to receive counsel changed how he led—and eased the burden on him and the people he served.

Sometimes we need a Jethro: someone who loves us enough to notice our exhaustion and say, “There’s a better way to do this.”

We can be so accustomed to carrying everything that we dismiss the very advice that could bring relief.

Use discernment. Look for someone whose wisdom, care, and character you trust. Then leave room for them to speak, even when you haven’t asked.

God may use their perspective to help you see a way forward you couldn’t see on your own.

Who’s your Jethro—and are you willing to listen?

EPISODE 48: RRRER THE CASE OF THE MISSING APPLIANCES I walked in and greeted my cousin and my eyes drifted over to the empty laundry area in the kitchen and a slight panic ensued. The condo was under contract. The U-Haul was ready. Then I walked inside—and the washer and dryer were gone. 😳

Episode 48: Really Rotten Real Estate Recollections

The stakes were personal. My client was an elderly, disabled veteran and a family member who needed to leave the beach and return to his hometown, where he felt he could get better support through his veterans benefits.

After getting his condo under contract, I returned with my team to help him pack and move, towing his U-Haul behind my vehicle.

But those empty appliance spaces stopped me cold.

Please tell me we didn’t include the washer and dryer in the buyer’s contract.

Thankfully, we hadn’t. He wouldn’t have to pay to replace what someone had taken.

But the missing appliances were part of something much more troubling: suspected elder abuse involving his car, his belongings, and an allegedly forged will. Attorneys are now handling those matters.

Some moves carry far more than furniture. This one carried the hope of getting someone I love closer to support.

Sometimes advocating for your client means checking the contract. Sometimes it means hitching up the U-Haul and showing up.

panic 😱 I thought to myself, ‘Please tell me we didn’t include the washer and dryer in the buyer’s contract.’

🔧 Garbage disposal humming but won’t turn? Try this quick fix!

Turn it off and unplug it—or switch off its breaker. If your model has a hex socket underneath, insert the Allen wrench tool that came with it and turn back and forth until it rotates freely.

Remove the wrench, restore power, then run cold water and briefly switch it on. This often frees a simple jam! Never put your hand inside the disposal.

Use cold water for this step, rather than hot.
