Yesterday’s tours took us to Lancaster, SC. We saw a total of 8 homes. First impressions start the moment you pull up to a home, BEFORE you even step through the front door.

Photos can catch your attention, but seeing it in person makes a difference. 👀

Here’s what you should know about Lancaster s market.

▫️ Homes in inventory: 346, up from 324
▫️ Days on market: 65, up from 63
▫️ Months of supply: 4.9, up from 4.5

For buyers, that means more options to explore and possibly more room to negotiate, depending on the home.

For sellers, buyers have more options, so pricing realistically from the start matters. Looking at recent sales, your home’s condition, and what else is available helps you set a price that gets buyers’ attention.

Did you know? Fun Facts about Union County ✨

Why are Union County’s towns called what they are?

• Monroe honors James Monroe, the fifth president of the United States.

• Waxhaw takes its name from the Waxhaw people and the region they inhabited.

• Indian Trail is linked to an Indigenous trading path that ran through the area toward the Waxhaw settlement.

• Wingate was once called Ames Turnout, after a railroad construction foreman. In 1896, a new school was named for Washington Manly Wingate, a former Wake Forest president, and the community changed its name to match.

• Weddington got its name through the local Methodist church. The church was renamed for Reuben B. Weddington, whose support helped build it; the surrounding community adopted the name.

• Wesley Chapel took its name from its Methodist church, which was named for John Wesley.

• Stallings became known by the name of the Stallings family, who settled there and helped establish a community around a store, farm, and railroad stop.

• Marshville was first known as Beaver Dam, then incorporated as Griffinsville. In 1895, it was renamed for the Marsh family, local landowners who donated land for community buildings.

• Fairview has a more personal story: the town’s history page says several accounts credit Louretta Vanda Helms Price with describing the view near the crossroads as “fair.”
