Still hear this one all the time: "you need 20% down to buy a house in the Bay Area." Not true. FHA loans are 3.5% down. VA loans are zero down if you've served. Conventional can go as low as 3%. And if you qualify, CalHFA can cover up to $20K of your down payment.

Everyone's situation is different, so if you're curious what you'd actually qualify for, send me a message and I'll run the numbers with you. Takes about 15 minutes and costs nothing.
