Behind the Desk: Continuing the Legacy

This week, we're introducing you to Vickie Maxwell, the friendly face and welcoming voice of our Brenham office!

Vickie has been part of the Botts Title family for 8 years.

As our receptionist, Vickie is often the first face you see when you walk through our doors and the first voice you hear when you call our office. And when asked what she loves most about her job, her answer was simple:

“I love meeting & helping people.”

And we think that says it all.

Whether she's welcoming someone into the office, answering a phone call, helping point a client in the right direction, or simply making someone feel comfortable, Vickie plays an important role in creating the warm, personal experience our clients have come to expect from Botts Title.

We're so thankful for the kindness, helpfulness, and welcoming spirit Vickie brings to our Brenham team every day. After 8 years, she's still doing what she loves most—meeting people, helping people, and making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels welcome.

🏡 TITLE TIDBITS TUESDAY🏡

What exactly is a title commitment?

Think of a title commitment as a "roadmap to the closing table." Before closing, the title company researches public records and prepares a commitment outlining what we found and what we need to do to get the transaction closed.

It helps identify:

🔎 Who currently owns the property
📋 What requirements need to be completed before a title policy can be issued
⚠️ Any recorded matters or exceptions that may affect the property

This gives the parties involved an opportunity to review the title and address potential issues before closing day.

A title commitment is an important part of the process—and one of the many things our team works on behind the scenes to help get you to the closing table.

The more you know about your title, the more confident you can be at closing. 🏡

Behind the Desk: Continuing the Legacy

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Mandy Wise - Abstractor & Examiner in our Giddings office, who has been part of the Botts Title family for 7 years and has been working in the title industry for 8 years!

Mandy is one of the people working behind the scenes to help make every closing possible. She especially enjoys tracing ownership history and digging into the details that help tell the story of a property. It's the kind of work that may happen behind the scenes, but plays an important role in getting a file to the closing table.

When asked what makes Botts Title different, Mandy said it best "communication, gratitude, and teamwork."

She loves that our teams stay connected and that employees aren't afraid to reach out—not just when they need help, but sometimes simply to say "thank you". She also appreciates the way our offices work together across counties, stepping in to help one another when workloads get busy so that no one has to face it alone.

One of Mandy's proudest moments at Botts was being recognized by her peers as a team player—a pretty fitting recognition for someone who values teamwork so much!

We're so grateful to have Mandy as part of the Botts Title team. Her attention to detail, willingness to help others, and commitment to teamwork are a big part of what happens behind the scenes to keep things moving forward.
