This Saturday, our broker, Lucresha Thomas, had the pleasure of being invited to speak to young adults ages 18–35 about HOMEOWNERSHIP at a phenomenal event, “Financial Freedom!” 🏡🔑

The crowd participation was AMAZING! The questions were on point, the engagement was real, and the information was being retained! 🙌🏽 THAT’S what it’s about!

Our broker’s goal was to do more than just talk about buying a house. She wanted to educate, empower, and help young adults understand that homeownership is possible with the right knowledge, preparation, and guidance.

🚨 BROKER PSA FOR MY GEORGIA REALTORS® 🚨

There is an important update affecting certain existing GAR contracts beginning today, September 29, 2026.

Governor Brian Kemp has declared a 30-day State of Emergency effective September 29 through October 29. Under the emergency provision in the GAR Purchase & Sale Agreement, qualifying unexpired contractual deadlines may be extended based on the emergency period, up to 8 days. This can affect deadlines such as due diligence, financing contingencies and the closing date.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME EVERY CONTRACT AUTOMATICALLY GETS 8 EXTRA DAYS.

Review your specific contract and the applicable GAR language before changing or relying on a deadline.

And remember: an expired deadline isn’t simply brought back to life because of today’s declaration.

As your Broker-in-Charge, my biggest message is simple: CHECK YOUR CONTRACTS. 📝🏡

If you have a closing or contractual deadline coming up, don’t guess. Review the agreement and reach out to your broker or closing attorney with contract-specific questions.

Our broker had a great time attending the Resource Fair today and had the opportunity to meet some amazing women in our community! ❤️ She exchanged numbers, made new connections, and looks forward to staying connected and building those relationships.

Networking is something she genuinely LOVES to do because she’s learned that sometimes networking can open doors that even her degrees may not be able to get her through. You never know who you’ll meet, what conversation you’ll have, or where that connection may lead.
