Atlanta, how are we supposed to afford our lives?! 💔 Between rent, groceries and everything else, working full time doesn’t always mean you can keep up.

Before we judge someone facing eviction or foreclosure, remember: one missed paycheck can start a cycle that’s almost impossible to catch up from. These are families trying to survive, and the odds are stacked against them.

Something has to give. Research the candidates’ housing policies and vote November 3.

Some seasons require more sacrifice than celebration.

This summer, I should be on a beach in Grenada with my daughter, drinking rum punch, making memories, and enjoying the break. Instead, most days have been spent at a construction site, troubleshooting problems, meeting contractors, cleaning up at 10 p.m., and figuring out how to pay for one more unexpected expense.

A few weeks ago, my plumber said something to me that made me emotional: “I see the work you’re putting in. Most people won’t.”

And he was right.

People will eventually see a beautiful finished home. They’ll see the kitchen, the porch, and the final reveal. What they won’t see are the sleepless nights, the stress, the sacrifices, and every extra dollar poured into bringing this vision to life.

Doing this as a single mom hasn’t been easy. It’s taken time away from my daughter, stretched me financially, and tested me mentally and emotionally.

But I’m building something bigger than myself. I’m building legacy.

To every parent, entrepreneur, or dreamer sacrificing today for a better tomorrow: keep going. The journey is hard, but the vision is worth it.

One day, our children will understand that love sometimes looks like sacrifice.

We’re back on the stencil walls for the Greenhouse project. I still love the elevated, designer look it gives without the commitment and headaches of wallpaper removal later on. Last time I had help, this time I’m flying solo and whew… the learning curve humbled me
But I got two bathroom walls done and honestly, I’m obsessed with how it’s turning out.

Lessons learned: I’m officially done with tacky spray because it can peel the paint right off the wall. Painter’s tape for the win. Also, make sure your stencil kit comes with edge and corner pieces because it makes finishing the job SO much easier. Two more bathrooms to go. What do y’all think of the stencil look over wallpaper? 👀
