Sheriff's Safety Tips for Summer - Please Lock Your Doors!
With summer approaching, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is once again reminding residents to lock your doors. These types of crimes increase dramatically over the summer months. Numerous high dollar items have been stolen throughout the county from unlocked vehicles. Many residents also have garage access from these cars, allowing access to garages and even inside the home. Be safe and lock your car(s) and home. Also, if you park your car on the street or in the driveway, be sure to hid or remove high dollar items, such as IPods, GPS units and cell phones, out of sight. Visible items incentivize thieves to break into cars. Should you be a victim of one of these crimes, please do report it to the Sheriff's Office at 703-777-1021.
