Lehigh Valley tenants, know your rights during the coronavirus economic shutdown

"Renters who can pay rent should pay rent — landlords have bills, too, and they may be struggling to pay the mortgage on the very building in which you’re living.

That said, if you’re lacking income and savings and can’t work out an arrangement with your landlord, don’t panic. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled last week that no one can be evicted, ejected or otherwise displaced from a home because of failure to make rent or mortgage payments during this court shutdown, which will extend through at least April 3, and likely longer.

Local landlords won’t be able to file evictions until at least April 15, as Lehigh and Northampton magisterial district civil hearings are delayed until then. Only emergency civil matters relating to the public health and involving immediate and irreparable harm will be scheduled in the meantime."

Just wanted to share some insight from a trusted lender, Omar John Nassar at Trident Mortgage.based on the decision that came out a few moments ago from the Federal Reserve.

"The Federal Reserve has cut the Fed Funds Rate by 50 basis points, an emergency cut due to Coronavirus concerns and its potential effect on the economy. Although this rate and mortgage rates are correlated, the cut does not necessarily mean mortgage rates will follow. The general consensus was the fed would do exactly this, rates have fallen preemptively in anticipation.
Does this mean rates will go up? No... Does this mean rates will go down? No.
What this means is the stock market and bond market will have volatile swings in either direction with each headline that hits the news ticker.
As financial guru Jim Cramer says, no one ever made money in the market by panicking."
