Water on Tap! At long last, the residents of the Twin Oaks, Wyatt Hollow and Harr communities and the Jacobs Creek Job Corp in Sullivan County, Tennessee have a safe and reliable source of drinking water. Construction of the 19th District Water System project is complete. The $3.5 million project included the construction of approximately 45,000 feet of water line, a 150,000-gallon water storage tank and a booster pump station. The project was funded by USDA Rural Development, the Appalachian Regional Commission, and the U.S. Department of Labor. The Lane Group assisted Intermont Utility District with planning, funding acquisition, design, inspection and construction administration. This is why we exist as a company…because we believe that the residents of southwest Virginia, northeast Tennessee and northwest North Carolina should have adequate, reliable and affordable infrastructure to improve their quality of life. We are proud to have played a part in this successful project!
TLG held its 8th Annual Client Appreciation/Charity Golf Scramble on Friday, September 14th at the Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon, Virginia. There were over 100 people in attendance. This year, TLG chose to assist the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center as our charity. The Southwest Virginia Cancer Center is a community-based facility located in Norton, Virginia, where patients spend several hours per day receiving treatments. The Center currently serves approximately 100 patients per day and our goal was to provide some small things (like moisturizers, puzzle books, and hard candy) that can help make the patients’ days a little more comfortable. Together, we collected several boxes of needed items and $2,011 for the Cancer Center!
The winners of this year’s scramble were the Town of Dobson, NC (1st place), the Town of Chilhowie, VA (2nd place), and the Scott County Public Service Authority (3rd place).
We would like to express our appreciation to everyone that came out and participated in this event!!
