The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Oyo State Branch, led by its Chairman, ESV. (Asiwaju) Tanigbola Ola-Sunkanmi, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Clerk of the Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday 19th October 2026. The delegation was warmly received by the Deputy Clerk and the Protocol Officer.
In his address, the Branch Chairman reaffirmed NIESV Oyo’s readiness and commitment to collaborating with the Office of the Clerk on legislative matters relating to land administration, tenancy, and estate agency practice. He emphasised the invaluable contributions that NIESV and the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) can make through professional expertise, policy guidance, and technical input to support effective legislation, protect public interest, and foster economic development in Oyo State.
The Chairman further assured the Assembly of the Branch’s readiness to prepare and submit a comprehensive position paper highlighting relevant professional perspectives and recommendations on these critical matters. The Branch Vice Chairman, ESV. Fisayo Alo, FNIVS, also reinforced the Chairman’s position, providing further clarification on the importance of professional collaboration in developing effective and practical legislation for the state.
Although the Clerk of the Oyo State House of Assembly Mrs. Taiwo Adenike Muraina-Akinola was unavoidably absent, the Deputy Clerk, representing the Clerk, responded constructively to the issues raised, addressed the suggestions presented, and commended NIESV and its professional members serving in various government ministries and agencies for their relentless contributions to public service and the development of the state.
The visit underscored the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships between the legislature and the estate surveying and valuation profession, particularly in advancing sound land policies, responsible property transactions, effective tenancy regulation, and sustainable economic growth.
The Branch Publicity Secretary, ESV. Diran Adeyemo, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the Office of the Clerk for the warm reception and constructive engagement.
