SHOCKING BUT TRUE:
The Hidden House At Sango
Wife: Honey, that 200k you want to use to get that iPhone can buy a plot of land in Ayobo Ipaja, Agbado, Command, Sango. You know my brother just got one in Sango.
Husband: *cuts in* jjjusst shut up, please. San what? From Opebi here in Allen to Sango, Agbado or whatever. Are we going backward or moving forward? The name of those places even stink.
Wife: *perplexed* Sorry my husband. *genuflects * I wee not bring it up again Sir.
Husband: It's alright. See, I have big plans for us. I plan to buy a house on the Island, Ikoyi preferably.
Wife: Issokay Sir.
• Ten years later
Wife: My husband, when are we moving to our mansion on the Island? I can't wait.
Husband: Very soon sweetheart. As soon as I renew our house rent. It expires this month. Don't worry. It's just 2M.
Wife: 2Millio?
Husband: Yeah, the landlord increased it and we are to pay for two years.
Wife: Issokay Sir.
• Five years on.
Wife: My husband, our house rent will expire this month end. The agent brought a reminder notice today.
Husband: *looking dejected, shoulder uneven, weighed by sorrow. Drops a letter on the table*
Wife: *grabs it and tears it open* Sack? *throw herself on the floor, her eyes a dam of tears.*
• Two months later, agent brought a quit notice.
• A month after, lawyer served notice of evacuation.
Husband: *dear, can you speak with your brother to allow us stay in one of his two bedroom apartment in his house at Sango? At least he just completed it. You know we could stay there pending when I will sort all this out.
Wife: That won't be a nice idea. Sango is another state. Ogun state and not Lagos. And you remember you don't like to go backward.
Husband: But it's at the border. Just five minutes drive from Ota.
Wife: It still doesn't matter. Your friends won't be able to visit us because the road is not motorable. Another thing is that power supply is not regular and there are too much mosquitoes there.
Husband: *alarmed* What are you saying dear?
Wife: *laughs sarcastically* I am saying you must buy that choiced mansion of yours in Ikoyi and we must move there. There and nowhere else. There or divorce. Period!
The weekend after, husband calls the Olori ebis to speak with his wife.
Wife reveals 'her brother's house' in Sango belongs to her husband. Built from her 'savings', his money. Built it in his name, only.
Her brother was the project manager. He deals in real estate. His name is Omoolope Michael.
