Awaji Island, by the Numbers.
Three airports within reach: Kansai International, Kobe and Osaka Itami.
Overnight stays on the island in 2024 reached 113% of their 2019 level.
In the 2026 official land price survey, average commercial land prices on Awaji Island rose for the first time in 35 years, while residential land prices increased for a second consecutive year.
These figures do not tell the whole story, but they show an island attracting renewed attention as a place to visit, stay and live.
Importantly, market conditions are not uniform across the island. Recent land price increases have been seen primarily in Awaji City, while trends in Sumoto and Minamiawaji remain different.
Numbers show where a place stands.
Living there shows what it means.
