Amendment 3 just passed! 🎉

Florida voters approved a major property tax break for homeowners. Starting in 2027, the homestead exemption for non-school property taxes jumps from about $50,000 to $150,000 — and then to $250,000 in 2028 (with inflation adjustments after that). School taxes stay the same, and there’s also a lower 5% cap on assessment increases for non-homestead properties like rentals and second homes.

In simple terms: lower property tax bills on your primary residence make owning a home in Florida even more affordable. This is a big win for current homeowners and anyone planning to plant roots here.
