Get Ready Lesson
In this lesson, learners are exposed to a problematic situation. The purpose is not to solve the exercises correctly, but rather to put learners in a state of suspense and encourage them to start wondering and discussing with their classmates why they are having difficulty understanding and solving the exercises. This is the main objective of the lesson.
The lesson starts with a listening phase. The listening text is, of course, the same text provided in the teacher's guide for the listening lesson. Learners listen to the text and complete the exercises provided in the worksheets. At this stage, the accuracy of their answers is not important.
The teacher then distributes the reading text. Learners read the text and complete the exercises. As in the listening phase, the correctness of their answers is not the main concern at this stage.
The writing phase then follows. Learners are asked to write something similar to the model text, but this time it should be personalised and related to their own context.
Learners put their answers and written work in their portfolio.
The Get Ready rubric is covered in two sessions, neither fewer nor more.
During the final lesson, Check My Progress, the teacher and the learners go back to the portfolio and try to compare the learners' initial achievements with the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout the learning sequence.
Check My Progress is a lesson like any other lesson. It has its own steps and procedures that the teacher should follow.

As a teacher of English, I will no longer be upset about the coefficient of the English subject. Whether it is 1, 3, or even 0, I will remain focused on what truly matters to me: implementing the yearly programme using the best possible materials, techniques, and teaching methods.
I will also not be angry or disappointed if my students obtain unexpectedly low marks in the BEM exams. I cannot control everything, and their exam results do not define my worth as a teacher.
The only thing I must be careful about is protecting my inner peace.
Henceforth, I will focus on what I can control, do my job to the best of my ability, and make peace with what is beyond my control.
