Villa Pontus: Mon Nov 2 – Fri Nov 6. Four nights.
Villa Pontus again: Thu Nov 12 – Sat Nov 14. Just two nights, perfect for a quick escape.
Villa Panorama: Sat Nov 21 – Tue Nov 24. Three nights.

From Nov 28, both villas have plenty of room into December.

Where exactly are we? Secret Valley, between Kouklia village and Aphrodite Hills, on the Paphos side of Cyprus. It has its own golf course.

Rough drive times: golf course 2 minutes, Aphrodite Hills 5, Kouklia 5, Aphrodite's Rock 10, Paphos airport 15, Paphos town 20, Limassol 40.

Kouklia also has the ancient Sanctuary of Aphrodite and a charming local history museum, in case you need an excuse to leave the pool.

Villa Pleiades is fully booked until mid-December, so think of this as a preview.

The pool with the palms. The hot tub with the sea on the horizon. A hammock under the palm trees, a sofa swing in the side garden, and a little library with books in English, French, German and Swedish.

Next free dates: Dec 12–22, and January is wide open right now. Winter is sunny here, the pool can be heated on request, and the hot tub is always on.

Villa Pontus, Thu Nov 12 – Sat Nov 14. That's a 2-night gap, and we don't normally do 2 nights, so this one's a bit special.

Eat out or eat in? Both, ideally.

Out: Kouklia village is 5 minutes away. Efraim on the square does a terrific meze (closed Wednesdays), and Thanasis Place, a block over, is the one for fish.

In: every villa has a charcoal grill and an outdoor table for six. Pick up some halloumi on the way back.

A day at Villa Pontus, more or less:

8am: coffee on the balcony, looking out over the sea
11am: in the pool
2pm: shade, sofa, book, maybe a nap
6pm: sunset from the garden
9pm: lights on, grill's done, one more cool beverage by the pool

Repeat for as many days as you've got.

Feeling spontaneous? Villa Panorama is free from tomorrow. Wednesday the 14th to Saturday the 17th, three nights.

Private pool, hot tub, rooftop terrace, and 15 minutes from Paphos airport. If you're in Limassol, it's about a 40-minute drive.

Can't do this week? Panorama is also free Sat Oct 24 – Tue Oct 27.
