🧱 Calacatta Celestial is a white field crossed by dark grey veins, engineered rather than cut from a block, so a run of benchtops reads as one surface instead of three cousins.

💧 Mohs 7 and 0.04% water absorption are what a kitchen actually asks for — no sealing schedule and no stain left behind by a forgotten spill.

What separates a good quartz slab from a cheap one.

Start with what is inside. A slab built from roughly 93% quartz sand and 6% resin carries more stone and less binder, which is where hardness and stain resistance come from.

Then ask for the measured values rather than the adjectives. Mohs hardness, water absorption and heat resistance can all be tested, and a supplier who has the numbers will send them.

🔬 Finally, look at how the slab was pressed. Vacuum, vibration, heat and pressure together are what close the surface.
