Not what you might expect to find at 3,000 meters!

Hidden above the main living space, the pod room can sleep up to six guests across three cozy sleeping pods.

Downstairs, the king bedrooms look straight out towards the surrounding mountains, with the master bedroom opening onto sunrise views towards Mont Blanc.

Every room at Cabane Tortin has a different perspective on the landscape, but the same feeling: waking up completely surrounding by the Alps!

Cabane Tortin was designed around the landscape, from the fire and comfortable corners to the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out across the glaciers and peaks.

A telescope brings the mountains even closer, while the dining table is made for long evenings, top quality food and a glass of w**e as the light changes outside.

With no neighbors, no city lights and very little to interrupt the view, the mountains and stars become part of the room.

Getting there is part of the experience…

At 3,000 meters above Verbier, Cabane Tortin sits high above the Tortin Glacier, surrounded by snow, glaciers and some of the highest peaks in the Alps.

We made the journey on snowshoes, crossing the glacier and leaving the lifts, roads and crowds behind.

A cabane is traditionally a mountain refuge reached at the end of a climb. Cabane Tortin takes that idea and reimagines it. The adventure of getting there, followed by somewhere warm, quiet and beautifully designed to retreat to.

A first look inside Cabane Tortin.

Perched at 3,000 meters above Verbier, the Cabane combines natural timber, stone and glass with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the surrounding mountains into almost every room.

The main living space is warm and understated, centered around the fireplace, while three king bedrooms offer a quieter place to retreat after a day in the mountains.

And then there is the view! The Tortin Glacier and the surrounding peaks are never far away.

This is a mountain refuge, but not quite as you know it.
