Thursday Tile Talk 🤍

Choosing tile? There’s more to consider than just colour!

Larger tiles create a cleaner look with fewer grout lines, while smaller tiles add texture and character.

Think about where your tile is going. Matte finishes can be a great option for floors, but always check slip resistance. And don’t overlook grout colour it can completely change the finished look!

My tip? Always bring samples home and check them in different lighting.

The right tile can make all the difference, and it’s one of the many details I help clients with during my decorating consultations.

Would You Dare to Go Dark? 🤎

White kitchens have always been a popular choice, but there’s something beautiful about bringing in a little more warmth and depth!

For this kitchen, we explored Sherwin-Williams Urbane Bronze SW 7048, a gorgeous, rich colour that works beautifully with the existing countertops, backsplash and stainless steel appliances.

When choosing a cabinet colour, it’s important to look at the whole space. Lighting, flooring, countertops and even hardware all play a part in getting that balance just right.

Whether you’re planning a full renovation or simply looking to refresh your space, the right colour can make all the difference.

Now I’d love to hear your thoughts! Are you team white or team Urbane Bronze? 🤎

A Home Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect to Be Beautiful ❤️

Being a mum, a grandma, and an interior decorator, I understand that everyday life isn’t always picture perfect, and neither are our homes!

I’ve been in so many homes over the years, and one thing I’ve learned is that every family has its own story, its own routines, and its own way of living.

I believe a home should be comfortable, welcoming, and reflect the people who live there. Sometimes it’s the smallest changes, a little colour, moving a few pieces around, or adding those personal touches that can make all the difference.

And at the end of the day, it’s not about having the perfect home. It’s about the people who fill it, the laughter, the memories, and feeling happy in your own space.

That’s always been my approach to decorating. ❤️

It’s always lovely to receive feedback like this! ❤️

One of my favourite parts of decorating is showing clients how we can work with pieces they already own, mix in a few new finds, and completely transform a space without breaking the bank.

Thank you, PJ, for your kind words and for trusting me with not just one, but three rooms in your home! 🏡

Just a few random things I can’t live without! ❤️

As a decorator, I have a weakness for beautiful paint colours, cozy throws, gorgeous fabrics and all those little details that bring a room together! It’s what I love most about decorating! 🥰

What are some of your favourites?

Small Corner, Big Impact!

That little corner in your home? It might have more potential than you think!

Sometimes it’s the smallest spaces that make the biggest impact.

A once overlooked corner can become a beautiful focal point with a little creativity, the right furnishings, artwork, lighting and, of course, COLOUR!

For this transformation, we used Iron Ore SW 7069 by Sherwin-Williams in Emerald Matte Finish, a rich, dramatic charcoal that adds depth and character while allowing the natural wood and warm textures to shine.

You don’t always need a major renovation to make a statement. Sometimes it’s simply about seeing the potential in a space.

Do you have a little corner in your home that’s waiting for some attention?

Friday Design Tip | Dining Room Lighting 💡

A beautiful light fixture can completely transform a dining room, but getting the height and size right makes all the difference!

One of the most common mistakes I see is a chandelier hung too high above the dining table.

My recommendation is to hang your fixture approximately 30–36 inches above the tabletop, depending on your ceiling height and the size of the fixture.

For sizing, aim for a fixture that’s approximately half to two-thirds the width of your table.

And don’t forget a dimmer! Lighting should be functional for everyday meals but also create a warm, inviting atmosphere when entertaining.

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest impact.
