Just a little tip today that I figured was worth sharing 👇

If you have a mortgage, or you’ve got anything coming up with your mortgage in the next few months, it might be worth calling your mortgage person and asking about a rate hold.

A lot of lenders can hold a rate for around 120 days, so if rates go up, at least you’ve got something locked in. And if they don’t, no big deal.

With two more Bank of Canada rate announcements still coming this year, it’s just one of those things that takes like 5 minutes to ask about and could end up saving you some money.

That’s it. Just passing it along because I thought it was good info. 😂

FEATURE FRIDAY: TEMPO 🍽️

This week’s Feature Friday took us to Tempo at 428 Dundas Street in downtown Woodstock, and this is one you’re going to want to save.

Owner Simon and the Tempo team are celebrating their second birthday next week, and in just two years they’ve created something pretty unique here in Woodstock.

The best way to describe Tempo is elevated casual.

You’re getting the quality, presentation and attention to detail you’d expect from fine dining — without feeling like you need to show up in a suit and tie. And unlike the stereotypical tiny fine-dining portions… you’re definitely not leaving hungry. 😂 I was STUFFED.

One of the coolest things Simon told me is that everything is made fresh in-house. And he means everything — right down to their pasta and bread.

We got to try everything from bruschetta, arancini and mini beef Wellingtons to their mushroom Wagyu burger with truffle aioli, plus some seriously impressive cocktails.

And we need to talk about the Beef Wellington…

It’s one of their most popular dishes, they regularly sell out of it, and apparently it’s even been compared to the Beef Wellington at Hell’s Kitchen…

Dare I say, some have even said Tempo’s is better. 👀

Just saying. 😂

Their cocktail program deserves some love too — the Vanilla Crush, C***r Sangria, Chai Espresso Martini and that smoked Maple Brown Oak Old Fashioned were all unreal. The presentation alone is worth watching.

But one of my favourite things about Tempo actually has nothing to do with the food.

Simon and the team genuinely care about being part of Woodstock. They support local school nutrition programs and get involved with community initiatives and events.

They also offer corporate catering and wedding catering, which I had no idea about!

And of course we finished things off with the espresso crème brûlée… because once you see that crust crack, you really don't have a choice. 😂

If you haven’t been to Tempo yet, add it to the list. Happy almost 2nd birthday, Tempo! 🥂
