Take a look at any newspaper article, TV bulletin or social media post about Australia's property market lately, and it all seems pretty grim.

But look past the headlines, and a different story starts to emerge.

I recently wrote about why it’s important to look beyond the national headlines and understand what’s really happening in your specific market and suburb for Your Investment Property.

Doom-and-gloom property headlines are everywhere, but they often miss one crucial fact – Australia isn’t one single property market.

The Perth property market is being pulled in opposite directions: rising interest rates and changes to tax settings at one end and WA's strong economy heaving at the other. So which is winning?

I recently wrote about the current state of the Perth market for Your Investment Property.

While I normally talk to the media about the Perth property market, it was a pleasure to be on the other side of the conversation and be profiled by reiwa.com.

I got to share my real estate journey, from starting out as a receptionist to the experiences that have shaped my career to date, and why industry advocacy remains such an important passion of mine.

Thank you to REIWA for the opportunity to reflect on my 20+ years in property management – I'm not sure where that time has gone.

One of the biggest challenges Clare sees for the industry is attracting and keeping people in real estate, particularly in property management.

It was lots of fun MC'ing the commercial property breakout session at this year's REIWA Connect Event. We had two insightful sessions: the first featured guest speaker Andy Reid, followed by a panel discussion on the future of commercial property in Perth, with Craig Hollett, Vaughan Copping, Jim Tsagalis, Anna Valentine and Luke Randazzo, facilitated by Andrew Graham.

The depth of knowledge and experience in that room was something else.
Beyond the commercial sessions, the event once again proved why it's one of the best real estate conferences in WA. The full day delivered insights across the industry, with strong themes around market resilience, evolving trends, and what it takes to perform at a high level.

Thanks to .com for the opportunity to be involved and to be surrounded by such a driven and engaged group of professionals. The conversations, connections, and energy throughout the day were exceptional.

With WA’s new bond reforms now in effect, what does this mean for property investors? 📊

I recently wrote an article for Your Investment Property breaking down the changes, including why investors are now on the clock with new response timeframes.

Western Australia’s new bond disposal process was touted as a simpler, easier system, but for Perth property investors the new rules come with tighter deadlines and new risks.

Big changes could be coming for WA rental laws, with reports suggesting a possible ban on no-grounds terminations. This could have a significant impact on investors, property managers, and rental supply.

With the market already under pressure, it’s more important than ever to stay informed and have your voice heard. If you have concerns or questions about what this means for your investment, don’t hesitate to reach out.
