🌷 If you are contemplating life in the Perth Hills, spring is a pretty special time at Araluen Botanic Park.

The gardens come alive with colour, with thousands of spring bulbs, flowing creeks, stone pathways and plenty of quiet corners to enjoy.

It is one of those places that reminds you just how much beauty we have sitting right here in the Perth Hills.

🍻 Living Local in the Hills

With the school holidays wrapping up last Sunday, there may be a few mums and dads around the Hills quietly looking forward to a slower moment. 😉

The Mahogany Inn & Distillery is one of those great local spots to enjoy a meal, a drink and a little breathing space before the school routine kicks back in.

So if the kids have kept you busy for the last couple of weeks, maybe next weekend is your turn.

A little local history, a good feed and a quiet drink sounds pretty reasonable to me.

🎡 A Great Day at the Perth Royal Show 🎡

Our Royal Show giveaway winner, Kim Morgan, has sent through a bunch of photos from the day, and by the look of them, the family had an absolute ball.

Kim said they had an awesome day, which is exactly what we hoped for when we put the giveaway together.

Thanks so much for sending the photos through, Kim. It is great to see the prize being enjoyed properly.

🤸 School’s out for the spring holidays and there is plenty of outdoor fun to enjoy around the Perth Hills, and this one looks like a great family day out.

On 6 October, Nearer to Nature is hosting its Pollinator Picnic, a free family event celebrating the native bees, birds, butterflies and other pollinators that help keep our environment thriving.

There will be hands-on activities, nature crafts, insect hotels, wildlife water stations, the Fairy Folk & Forest Friends Trail and plenty of opportunity for the kids to explore and enjoy the outdoors.
