We carry a thermal camera and a moisture meter on every inspection, and we use them right through the property. Not just in the bathrooms.

We run the showers for an extended period and flush all the toilets first. Then we go back through with the camera and the meter to pick up any leaks nobody knew were there.

Most of the time, what we find is a minor defect that can be fixed easily. But you only get to fix it if you know it’s there.

A beautiful renovation can hide a lot.

In this case, new weatherboards stacked straight on top of rotten ones. And a house that needs to be fully restumped.

When someone has renovated a property, it’s easy to look at how good it looks and get swept up in it. But what’s underneath matters just as much as what you can see.

This is the due diligence we do on every inspection. We’re not just looking at the cosmetics. We’re looking at what actually holds the house together.
