Gold Coast rental market wrap: week ending 17 October 🏡

Rent growth is slowing, but the Gold Coast is still the dearest.

This week’s numbers:
🔹 Gold Coast median house rent: $920/week (Sept quarter), down from $950 in June and still Australia’s highest
🔹 National rents up 5.5% over the year, easing from 5.9%
🔹 Quarterly growth cooling: +2.1% → +1.6% → +0.5%
🔹 Cash rate 4.60%, next RBA decision 3 November

Gold Coast rental market wrap: week ending 10 October 🏡

The Gold Coast still leads the nation on rent. Here’s where things stand:

📍 $900/week: median asking rent across the Coast, the highest of any Australian market
📈 +2.5%: rise in asking rents over the three months to June
🏠 Houses $950/week | Units $850/week (June quarter)
💰 Priciest: Broadbeach Waters houses at $1,500/week and Main Beach units at $1,100/week
✅ Most affordable: Pimpama houses at $743/week and Nerang units at $650/week

Renters nationally are now spending a record 33.1% of their household income on rent. With the cash rate at 4.60% after the RBA’s 29 September rise and the next decision due 3 November, your holding costs keep climbing too.
