Some people teach you how to fight. Others teach you how to stop being afraid.
This is Andre. And I couldn't be prouder of this man.
Yesterday, he stepped into the Abu Dhabi Nationals to compete in Jiu-Jitsu against athletes with years of experience.
Andre has been training Jiu-Jitsu for just FOUR MONTHS.
Let that sink in.
Why would someone willingly put himself in a position where the odds are stacked against him?
His answer was simple. He wanted to test himself against the best, understand the gap, and reverse engineer his way to their level.
That, to me, is a warrior's mindset.
I met Andre back in 2023. He was a regular coach at UFC Gym, working hard, trying to find his way, like so many of us.

Today, he's built an incredible career, become one of the most sought-after coaches, and created a beautiful life for himself.
But here's what inspires me most.
The same mindset that made him successful is the mindset that made him walk into that competition.
Not the absence of fear. The refusal to let fear make his decisions.

And perhaps that's why I've kept Andre so close to me all these years.
Because while he coaches my body, I'm constantly learning from his mind.
He won matches yesterday. He didn't win the tournament.
But to me, the biggest victory happened the moment he decided to step onto that mat.
Most people spend their lives trying to avoid situations where they might lose. Andre actively seeks them out so he can grow.
And maybe that's the real lesson here.
The life you want is often waiting on the other side of the fear you're unwilling to face.
Proud of you, brother.
And thank you for reminding me that the greatest competition will always be against the person we were yesterday.
Another beautiful story of someone who
